Twitch wanted to celebrate some of most legendary creators and the communities they’ve built.
So we created Legends of the Live and set out to tell the tall tales, fun stories, and epic achievements of three of our most legendary creators: Ninja, Pokimane, and TimtheTatman.
We dug into their journeys, created three unique animation styles to fit each streamer’s personality, and even brought the legend to life with some limited edition toys. Oh, and since no streamer would be where they are today without their community - we let their chat co-write the stories. (Warning: expect lots of inside jokes.)
Our legends premiered live on their channels, along with a release on social, OOH in times Square and a limited edition toy release that let fans own a piece of the legend IRL.
We earned millions of views, sold oodles of toys, and made Poki cry tears of joy. Legendary.
Letting the Fans Decide
No creator would be where they are today without the help of their fans and their community, so instead of writing the stories ourselves, we co-wrote them with the help of Twitch chat.
Think of it like Drunk History meets mad libs - we wrote the outline to stories then left it up to chat to fill in and embellish the details using the polls feature during our creator’s streams.
Limited Edition Legends
To make things even more legendary, we partnered with Youtooz to launch a limited edition toy collection. These things sold out faster than a Mario speedrun.
